So I survived my very first art show .... I had no preconceived notions about the weekend. I just wanted to be open to the whole experience. It was wonderful !!! I loved meeting all the people that came to the show. It was very interesting talking to everyone about my work. People wanted to know what the meaning was behind the pieces and where I got my inspiration. They were interested in my pieces, and had numerous questions for me.

There was a tremendous variety of paintings, photographs and wood carving by my fellow artists. It was great to walk around the hall and just see the full scope of talent within the guild.

I am very honoured to be included in this group of talented artists. I am looking forward to next years show....

okay, so here's my first blog...i feel a little overwhelmed by the technology, but i figure that it will be a good way to exhibit my collages...

this is one of my favorite pieces...it is based on a poem, White Birds by W.B. Yeats ....this poem is very personal for me and it instantly takes me to a time and place when going on holiday meant going to the seashore.... i had the white water lily for sometime now and i was just waiting for the right piece for its use....the shells were literally just thrown on and allowed to scatter as they may......it reminds me of the tide coming in and washing the shells onto the shore.....
